Pros

The pay is very good for corporate employees, the atmosphere is friendly and professional. The employees are also friendly and helpful.

Cons

Upper Management and Buyers are ruthless. People will throw you under a bus in a heartbeat. If a Buyer doesn't like you, you're gone. I was controlled by the Buyers who had zero fashion sense and zero experience in apparel design and trends. The Buyers were shopping at Kohls and bringing the Designers products from the Kohl's sales floor and asking us to "knock it off". In what day in age are we in where we have to knock of Kohls? Super sad. I was placed with a Temp upon my arrival and she stopped at nothing to sabotage my job there so she could take it. The place is full of friendly people, but if you don't "drink the koolaid and gel with the JCP culture", you'll be thrown out. Simple as that. One week my boss was calling me "sweetpea" and the next she was silent and talking about me behind my back to my colleagues. They told me.

Pros

If you like working early morning hours and getting off early in the afternoon (which I do) this is a great part-time job. I was a college student when I worked here so it worked perfectly with my schedule. The pay is pretty decent and the people you work with are friendly.

Cons

Only real downside is that it's retail. You're going to run into some rude customers from time to time. There's always work to do and not enough time given to do it sometimes. But as long as you work hard and managers see that you're trying your best there isn't too much pressure put on you.
