Pros

The associates were automatically friendly to each other and customers. Hour breaks when working a 7+ hour shift and 1-2 15 minute breaks. Can combine discount(20%) with clearance items, full priced items, and promotions. i think it changed though. They give you good hours. If you want more, they'll give it to you. Little responsibility. Didn't have a interview.

Cons

Most of my managers were Spanish and talked about me behind my back in Spanish. A LOT OF JEALOUSY AND FAVORITISM WHEN I WORKED HERE. Depend on computerized training. If you are not liked, they will give you a sucky position. DO NOT use discount on family or friends. They terminated me because I used my discount to take off money on a purchase that my mother made for me. She purchased my clothes and I wanted to use my discount. They made it seem like a stole. Unprofessional at times. Managers barely recognized hard workers. Heavy demand for promoting jcpenny cards. The incentive was either candy or $2. Unfair pay. This was my second, but first retail, job. I received $7.50. Another co-worker who worked at Target for a week was offered $7.75. Another co-worker who was never had a retail job was offered $9.00. A girl who was younger than me, inexperienced, and in high school was offered $8.00. Another girl worked there for two years and was still received $7.75/hour. Managers barely work. They walk around and that's it. Loss prevention sucks because they think they are security guards. They solve what they want solve. They don't inform you about everything. I remember when a lot of people were getting laid off because they were temporary. Their last day was a wednesday. None of the managers informed the employees. My friend and I informed everyone. They also don't train you for all circumstances. Sometimes you have to have a co-worker clarify rules. Not guaranteed a meeting. Most managers will not stop to get to know your name. You can get fired for anything. Very sneaky and secretive.

Pros

Decent hours, you get off earlier depending on the size of the truck coming in that day which can be a good and bad thing. You also get several hours before the store opens without customers. No late nights.

Cons

Too early for some, and even earlier mornings during high traffic times of the year like Christmas/Black Friday Sales days.
