Pros

-The management is flexible and supportive as long as you are understanding and willing to work with them. -90% of the people who work there have patient care quality in mind and are willing to help guide others as long as you show interest and are humble. -Big hospital growth community hospital vibes. -Constantly growing the repertoire of surgeons and variety of cases done. -Surgeons are urged, and expected by their higher ups to treat nurses with dignity and respect (They can still get annoyed though). -Hospital has expansion plans for the OR as well as for employee parking within 5-10 years. -OR management keeps us informed of what the system expects and what is expected of us but how they are also working to keep it fair for the staff with open ears to any possible issues we face day to day.

Cons

-the hospital is still growing so inconvenient (not bad) policy changes occur. -staffing for afternoon evening can be a hit or miss so they ask for people to stay on occasion. Lunch relief may also be expected late by 10 minutes max. (Although OR management tries to refine the system so there are no delays under any circumstances) -30 minute turn overs are the standard for most cases (however true delays are understood and investigated, just asked to put delay reasons in the EMR to help make the 30 minutes more and more feasible).

Pros

Very supportive unit managers, supportive coworkers, not toxic at all.

Cons

Very busy hospital. Nurses have a lot of responsibility, my least favorite of which is taking my patient to Cathlab, or CT, or worst picking up patients from the ED when they are surging.
