Pros
Overall, I had a very pleasant and enjoyable experience at Jack Henry. The company culture was genuinely kind, welcoming, and open. C-suite and senior leaders were genuinely accessible (you could message them on Teams and get a response). Coworkers were also kind and willing to help you find an answer to your questions. Even though most employees were remote, there was a strong sense of working together as one company. There was also a strong emphasis on providing learning and leadership development opportunities for Associates.
The company was also actively working to align employees on the company’s overall strategic objectives; this was no small feat as Jack Henry had acquired many companies over the years, and aligning all the various teams and product groups towards a more streamlined workplace culture and company outcomes wasn’t easy. In summary, I would recommend that people work at Jack Henry; you can truly build a meaningful and purposeful career with the company.
Cons
The challenges I had were mostly related to my direct managers. While my direct managers were nice people and I genuinely believe they wanted their direct reports to succeed, I felt that my skills and experience were not well managed. I did well in my first couple of years at the company and then I was put in a role that wasn’t a good fit for my skill set without being given an opportunity to weigh in on whether or not I wanted the role (I understand that team reorganizations sometimes happen and you don’t always get a say in where you’re placed). There were multiple situations with miscommunications and misunderstandings, and when I sought clarity, I was often made to feel as though the confusion was my fault.
