A Faint Glimmer of Once Greatness

Pros

The employees that are left are great to work with.

Cons

Merely a shell of what the old amazing company's was. The core values are a joke and everyone laughs about how the actions are the opposite. I've seen an employee fired because he asked off to go to his mother's funeral. When is manager refused, the employee left and went to his mother's funeral anyway. The result was he was terminated the next day. (AN EMPLOYEE WAS DENIED TIME OFF TO GO TO HIS MOM'S FUNERAL AND WAS FIRED FOR IT!) This used to be unheard of but is now commonplace in the new Jack Henry. I don't even recognize this company anymore. I don't even see glimmers of what greatness it used to be. It's all about the money. It's all about the shareholders. It's all about doing more with less which means pushing employees to the breaking point. All the good reviews on Glass Door are are result of human resources requesting new employees to add a good review. I watched a new hire orientation class provide attendees time to go out to Glassdoor and write a good review for Jack Henry. If you look almost all of the good reviews are from people who worked for less than a year. I'm looking at switching of course. I don't want to be a part of what this company has become especially with how great it once was.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts about your experience as an associate at Jack Henry. We agree that our team is amazing! We appreciate your candid feedback and want to address the issues you raised above. First and foremost, we believe in putting our people first – it’s something our co-founders Jack Henry and Jerry Hall strongly believed and something we are committed to nearly 50 years later. We genuinely care about the well-being and satisfaction of our associates and it’s disheartening to hear your recent experience has fallen short of your expectations. Regarding your specific concerns, we want to clarify that we are committed to treating all associates fairly and with respect. Our People & Culture team closely monitors the termination process to ensure that it complies with all applicable laws and regulations. A decision to terminate an associate is made following a thorough review of performance and alignment with our company’s goals and values. We hope you will reach out to your HR Business Partner or email us directly at humanresources@jackhenry.com to discuss how we can better support you. Thanks again for your feedback.

Pros

Decent pay, decent benefits (used to be better), good cafeteria. Used to be a really great place to work with amazing benefits and culture, but that fades by significant degrees every time some carpet bagger executive is brought on board.

Cons

Upper management only care about impressing the shareholders. Employees are cattle to them. Lower level managers can only do so much to mitigate this. Benefits have been reduced multiple times since 2008. Employees who have been there the longest are automatically on the chopping block. Culture is shifting from small town startup in the Bible belt to whatever the executives brought onboard through buying out other companies are bringing with them (something very different). Scruples and dignity are casualties in JHA's transition to being a big, cosmopolitan company that wants to sit at the same table as Fiserv (treats its employees better than JHA, by the way) and is willing to sell its soul to get there.

Thanks for sharing your candid feedback about your time working at Jack Henry. Since our company’s founding we’ve believed that business is about people. We believe that about our clients, the people who work at financial institutions and fintechs, shareholders, and board members. Most importantly, we believe our business is successful because of the people it all starts with: our associates. What you’ve described here does not align with our core values nor guiding philosophy of doing the right thing, doing whatever it takes, and having fun. We believe these to be important to our business and regularly solicit feedback from our associates so that we can ensure these values are being maintained. It’s unfortunate that wasn’t your experience when you worked at Jack Henry. If you’d like to share more or have specific suggestions, we encourage you to reach out to humanresources@jackhenry.com. If you have an ethical concern, we strongly encourage you to report it anonymously by visiting lighthouse-services.com/jackhenry or calling 833-222-4159.

Pros

It WAS the "Best Company to Work For", until now. JHA's "Do the Right Thing" means absolutely nothing to managers in Lenexa. They just laid off some of the best people in the industry 2 weeks ago.

Cons

Several highly-qualified, top-rated employees were laid off after being assured that they would not lose their jobs, because they happened to work for an inadequate top manager. There are several job openings at JHA that could have been instantly filled by these employees, but the HR system has them jumping through hoops and wondering if they will be employed come July 1. "Do the Right Thing" ...JHA should have reorganized and transferred the employees that did no wrong. I can't believe the company I work for is treating colleagues this poorly. They should be ashamed of themselves.
