Pros

-health insurance is good and cheap compared to other companies, PTO and VTO policy is good, 3% 401K contribution is good but most companies go higher now -there are still some truly amazing people who work there, many of us are all friends because in some areas we became true teams -building a product that makes using new tech at work or at school seamless is a pretty cool mission to be a part of. If one has ever onboarded as a new employee and felt pain, solving that with jamf is pretty fun. -in some areas work life balance is still healthy and encouraged by leaders, but with the return to office mandate and other changes, the trend is heading downward.

Cons

-continual loss of perks and salaries aren't competitive without them: things like team t-shirts seem small but matter, team on-sites are a big deal they really help teams thrive which helps the company thrive, BYO phone plans are going away, new employees getting watches and iPads is gone, uber eats lunches were ended, stock keeps dropping which means loss of yearly "pay"... -lack of mission and vision alignment: when working on a customer facing product I could tell user stories about why the initiatives were important, but I had no metrics to tie to, I had no idea if my teams' work would help the company succeed. So many projects take place but no one in leadership can actually say what is important and why, it's all a guessing game and there is a lack of looking back on past business mistakes to learn. -toxic management, my boss brought politics into the office and even when a person asked him to stop he said something dismissive like you need to deal with it. He berated engineers who were brand new for being slow to ship things to done but never helped them onboard and would tell them in team meetings no one has time to help you, figure it out. He believes if people don't ship tickets in the time they say they will, they shouldn't be eligible for any annual raise. He got angry when people didn't understand his poor communication and tried to ask clarifying questions. He would often spend a whole hour meeting targeting one person and loudly fighting with them during large team meetings. He discouraged taking PTO. He is one example of a manager causing hiccups and I could list more. -gender discrimination is real: I can confirm with examples that my pay was lower than my male colleagues and I can confirm others were in the same boat, some of the men had a tendency to speak over me or assume I'd take notes or assume I'd facilitate them etc. In a classic example I'd bring up an idea in meeting one, be ignored, and in meeting two I would hear my idea repeated by a white man and everyone would listen. I've been in worse companies, but discrimination is still very present. -toxic co-workers: I can cite at least three people who were reported to HR and/or reported to the hotline and the people are still employed. In the last few years I had a co-worker tell me he refused to give a person access to tools he needed as a new employee when I asked why he said he wasn't trustworthy because of his religion (muslim). This is just a single example of constant toxic behavior and from the perspective of a peer this person (and all others) was never reprimanded or coached. Perhaps something was occurring behind closed doors, but their poor behavior never changed. -I worked hard and I put in many years and my career went nowhere. My performance reviews were always highest marks, my managers never had bad words, my teams rated me well, my employees rated me well, my customers loved me, and yet I couldn't get jobs I wanted or promoted past a ceiling. I loved Jamf so much I thought they'd do better than classic male dominated corporation, but nope.

Benefits, culture, and community drive Jamf. Pay can always be better, but is fair to the market.

Cons

Some growing pains recently, maturing from a start-up to a stable company with new technology, such as AI, competing with internal resources.

Pros

Benefits are pretty much the only positive at this point. Working hybrid is nice, but pales when we used to be fully remote with no issues.

Cons

The senior managers of Technical Support are driving this org into the ground. Employees are no longer a human, no longer an employee; we are now just numbers. KPI requirements have gotten ridiculous requiring employees to almost literally fight over available work to make ourselves look better. Its a complete sham, a numbers game. There are those of us that are legitimately here for our users and administrators, but the quantity of work has vastly outweighed the quality.
