Pros
- Great potential - Great team on the technical side - Great people in general - Product is really good but needs an overhaul to be competitive
Cons
- Ancient technologies are used and there is push back towards any attempt at innovation - Any change or innovation is driven by reaction once it is already too late and the development is rushed (Lots of overtime and pressure from higher management, barely any recognition) - Higher management is tone deaf - Very low space for growth unless you bring a job offer from outside - Abuse and harassment is not taken seriously and not handled professionally EVEN after communicating it to superiors and HR MULTIPLE times - "Old school" management, micromanagement is the rule and employees crying due to the abuse (myself included) caused by the management are a common thing (not acknowledged nor addressed) - No work from home pre Covid and 9 hour days - Lowest salaries for developers in the business (every single recruiter I had contact after leaving the company were shocked when I informed my previous salary) - During Covid there were salary cuts that were not retroactively paid back once business was booming again - Canada unemployment rate for Covid relief was $500 a week and my salary (and many of my colleagues) was lower than that - it would have been more respectful to lay us off at that point (as many people were during that time) - during the same time new directors and consultants were hired at obviously higher salaries - Nepotism (which would be ok if the people were qualified)
