sundays off everything else was bad - Sales Jim Ellis Automotive Group Employee Review

Pros

sundays off, flexible with breaks

Cons

The pay wasn't great especially considering the 47.5 hour work week, assuming I didn't get stuck staying late with a customer, or it was the last day of the month, or a holiday and they opened, or management guilted me into extra hours. Speaking of management, in my time there (roughly eight years) I had 40ish managers. However only one person ever got promoted, that I saw. Pay was 100% commission. Which is fine except the hoops one has to jump through to get paid. Including many things that were out side my control or responsibility, and sometimes the payroll department would just make an honest mistake. From March of 2014- July of 2014 I didn't get a single pay check paid correctly. We also couldn't keep a decent porter staffed (one porter wasnt allowed time off for his cancer treatment, he's passed away) So sales people were often responsible.

Thank you so much for this incredibly kind feedback. It means a lot to hear that you feel supported in your growth and success — that’s exactly the kind of culture we strive for. We want every team member to feel valued, seen, and encouraged to build a lasting career here. I’m so glad your experience has reflected that so far, and I hope it continues in the same direction. Appreciate you taking the time, Brooke

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I’m glad to hear you found the hours to be a positive. I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t feel supported by management or received the level of training you needed—that’s not the experience we want for our team. We know how important strong leadership and development are, especially early on. Your feedback is helpful and something we’ll continue to focus on improving. Thank you, Brooke
