Pros

Free lunch on Saturdays and your paychecks are always on time and they always clear. Management is not so far down your throat you can't breath. Clean and will deliver a, for the most part, steady stream of work. I would recommend it to a friend but I believe I can do better. It's not bad if you need the job.

Cons

I can only speak for the shop. If you are asked to stay and finish a job ASAP and you skip lunch to do it (per their request), an hour will still be removed from your pay due to the "legal system" saying you need to take one. When you are hired you are given a lower than average rate with promises on raises but those raises do not come. They have a couple lanes run by hourly paid employees and the company pushes as much service to those lanes because they can pay them around 10 an hour instead... these lanes are meant for oil changes and rotations but they send them full services. The service writers send all the mainstream "good" work to their "favorite" tech's and send all the low pay, pita, and warranty jobs to everyone else. There is a sense of "new guy" hatred. There are a few "groups" that hate each other and the new guy is looked at as an outsider. I never agreed with the way things were run or the group vs group complaining and favoritism so I left short of a year.

Pros

sundays off, flexible with breaks

Cons

The pay wasn't great especially considering the 47.5 hour work week, assuming I didn't get stuck staying late with a customer, or it was the last day of the month, or a holiday and they opened, or management guilted me into extra hours. Speaking of management, in my time there (roughly eight years) I had 40ish managers. However only one person ever got promoted, that I saw. Pay was 100% commission. Which is fine except the hoops one has to jump through to get paid. Including many things that were out side my control or responsibility, and sometimes the payroll department would just make an honest mistake. From March of 2014- July of 2014 I didn't get a single pay check paid correctly. We also couldn't keep a decent porter staffed (one porter wasnt allowed time off for his cancer treatment, he's passed away) So sales people were often responsible.

Pros

Mr. Ellis and his family showed up on March 24, 2021, to announce that they had purchased Mercedes-Benz of Atlanta South. I was so relieved. I had been there since 2015. At that time we had a decent organization that owned the business but in 2018, a new owner took over. I'll just say that it was unpleasant. So, a year in now with Jim Ellis Automotive Group and I'm elated. The family came in, introduced themselves, shared their history with us and we celebrated. From 1971 to 2021. It was great. Then theysaid what was going to happen and things started happening. Ugh, they removed that toxic refrigerator the next day. The improvements continued...the cafe, the chandelier, the MB flags, the new A/C, etc. My favorite is the new management. This new group has changed our lives. They are vibrant and refreshing. There is still room for improvement and we will get there together. We will have it together when we move into our new building. Ground breaking will begin soon. Yay! I'm pleased to be a member of the staff. I'm in for the long haul. Thank you to the Ellis family.

Cons

We are suffering from some bumps and bruises from the past, but there's a plan in place. We will overcome and excel. Stick with us and see.
