*they pair every teacher with a coach to help monitor their goals and progress *they celebrate the students' successes in a positive way

Cons

*they expect their teachers to "canvas" around the city to recruit families and kids for KIPP. The language surrounding this feels very much like a missionary trip. they wanted teachers to approach families in the parking lots of Aldi and Walmart and talk about changing their kids' lives and futures. Very paternalistic

Administration expects teachers to be guidance counselor, social worker, nurse, and parents to the students. While this is expected at some level, the amount times teachers must play these other roles is not healthy at all.
