Pros

Free tuition and a pension (if you can make it 10 years) are the ONLY reasons to work here.

Cons

EVERYTHING. Seriously there is nothing good to be said about KSU as an employer. Everything we were told about Whitten by our colleagues at UGA when she got run out of there on a rail is 1000% true. Satan himself would make a better leader and would probably be a nicer person. She is a horrible person and she’s surrounded herself with unqualified flunkies who are equally as horrible as she is. She’s mean, spiteful, hateful, selfish, self-centered, and only concerned with advancing her career and raising her professional profile. If you don’t agree with everything she says and go along with everything she does you will be bullied and then fired. And her handpicked minions are the exact same way. Everyone is out for self and using KSU as a means to an end for themselves. Stay far far away. You have been warned.

Pros

Those are really good opportunities for you to gain more experience on your resume while in school. Depending on who your supervisor is, you will get different projects and experience. It's not just strictly "lab research" like the name suggests. Also, beyond your job, you will learn a lot from your professor, aka supervisor, too. In my experience, I have worked with multiple professors, and they are all amazing people who understand you're still a student, are very flexible with your schedule, and always push for your success. Big pros: You get a tuition waiver depending on your job's tier (meaning how much work and how many hours per week you work, which is stated clearly on the website and by your supervisor). There's a stipend paid on top of that.

Cons

I haven't had any cons so far.

Pros

The only true "pro" to this career and this employer is the job security. As long as you do your job and do it well, it is likely that you'll remain employed here. If you get lucky, like I did, you'll work with a great immediate team of folks.

Cons

No upper movement. The company would much rather bring in outside hires rather than promote from within. Pay is on the lowest end of the USG for this role. Work/life balance is absolutely horrible.
