Pros

The women who work for this company were amazing. Loved the school environment and coworkers! Children have access to an ample amount of age appropriate toys. The job is fun! Tons of opportunity to be promoted from within! I started out as a Teacher Assistant, and quickly worked up to Assistant Director. Communication is amazing. The company easily provides all of the training hours teachers need. The classrooms and outdoor areas are very well maintained. Some pretty amazing curriculum to build off of. Woman friendly company. When I started teaching, my daughter was nursing and would not take a bottle, the company made sure I was able to support my daughter and feed her when she needed me to. It's an awesome school to have your children at if you need childcare while you work. **added bonus - Kensington pays their employees well compared to almost all other childcare programs in Illinois. Their holiday programs go way above and beyond. It was awesome to be a part of! Would have stayed, but my youngest was going to half day kindergarten farther away, and had a newborn and another opportunity that gave me the ability to primarily be a stay at home mom.

Cons

Lack of time to get everything done on the clock. Child care (*in general, not just specifically here) is short staffed. It's a tough job with a lot of responsibility. I ended up spending 4-5 hours a day doing lunch breaks where I could not get my own responsibilities done due to teacher turnover or illness (when you work close with children, you catch what they have). Working weekend or after school events regularly (worth it, but hard to work so much when your own children are little).

Pros

Very clean environment, procedures made things streamlined, amazing teachers and ta’s.

Cons

Elitist attitude regarding themselves and other daycares, logo is on nearly everything (even some of the holiday gifts kids will make for parents), so much structured activity to the point where we are often scrambling to get everything done, insanely strict dress code that workers are expected to be grateful for, slightly beige and cult-like.
