Cons

The biggest weakness of Kony is the total and utter ineptitude of the marketing organization. Executive management enables the Mktg org to continue to add layer upon layer of useless roles that have zero impact on driving awareness for the company. There is now roughly 5 VP's in the marketing org alone. No one can offer up a straight explanation as to what these people do or contribute to the company. They seem to be engaged in endless meetings about meetings, running reports to justify their ridiculous burning of budget, and deliberately manipulating data to deceive management into thinking they are actually generating leads for sales. 98% of these people in the marketing organization are your typical highly paid "hiders." They hide inside of the company, burning cash and driving no results. Sales meanwhile does all the heavy lifting in winning new business for the company with little to no support from marketing. Salespeople are viewed as expendable and routinely fired for not meeting unrealistic quota expectations. All the best salespeople have now left. Many of the founding team have also left. Some purchased their vested equity in hopes that the company might figure things out and fire all the useless mid-level managers and execute a profitable exit. However, Kony is hemorrhaging clients and revenues don't keep up with the burn-rate of cash. Thus, Kony has been forced to take multiple investment rounds that have diluted the the value of founding team members shares to an extremely low amount. As many other reviewers suggested, the only way Kony has a prayer is if the investment team rips out and replaces nearly entire management team, and lays off 95% of the marketing org.

Pros

The employees are great. Most people are very smart and passionate about what they do. In the time I was there I never had any problem working with anyone in the company. Always someone to go to lunch with and lots of staff drinks after work (mostly organized by staff and not management) Good flexibility for work-life balance...for some people

Cons

- Disorganized. - Not diverse. - No support for career advancement/training/certification/education - Totally inconsistent with a lack of focus. Strategic direction seems to change every 6 months and it never makes complete sense. - Leadership is tone deaf to the market and is not willing to adapt. Stubbornness is why nothing is selling and the company is falling apart. - Top Leadership doesn't engage with employees unless they feel like they have to. - HR is beyond useless and gossips about EVERYONE. There is no confidentiality in HR. - Lots of recent turnover with long time employees because of messed up operations and managers egos. - LOTS of people have left to go work for the founder of Kony at his new company, or they left to go back to their old jobs. - TERRIBLE operations. Travel policy is crazy!!! Some people can't afford to come out of pocekt and be reimbursed for almost everything. $7k in expenses for travel is ridiculous!
