Pros
Some of the people in management truly do care about their employees. If you're in the defense industry, this is probably a supportive environment in which to work.
Cons
if you're not in the defense field, this is not a supportive environment. Because the company is constantly acquiring and absorbing new business, the policies, procedures, and benefits are in a constant state of flux. Often, completely inappropriate policies are imposed on business units that make it difficult for those units to function, because business units are constanty being shuffled around. The amount of red tape and paperwork involved in order to do anything is ridiculous.
