Pros

Insurance was the cheapest around, 10% off all Kroger brand items and other Kroger affiliated brands. Building relationship bonds with your people.

Cons

Management is treated like crap so they treat you like crap. Management bullies you into working and if you don't, they never forget. Management wound so tight due to being over worked too! Kroger really fights the Union, which creates a rift in how things are managed. Kroger keeps taking away from their employees futures by reducing how much vacation time they can earn, reducing their benefits, removing Sunday pay and almost no incentive programs exist anymore. They set unrealistic goals for all employees and/or departments because a few people were able to do it in their locations. They cut hours so far that you have to lie, chest and steal to get your work completed by the unrealistic goals set by senior leadership.

Pros

• Generally work with fantastic people. • Work is not difficult, and time flies when busy. • My bosses collaborated with me to create a schedule that worked, as I often had other commitments. • Overall, a pleasant work experience most days. Get good at what you do and you'll do fine.

Cons

• Some of the senior management was less friendly than others - as to be expected. • Days were very volatile; some could be extremely easy, and others could be a nightmare. • Scheduling was kept rather limited; although I was able to get the hours I wanted, often times management would look to cut hours from departments whenever possible, leaving less support.
