Great company to work for. Fair and reasonable rules to follow. UNION environment encouraged collaboration of humans from a vast variety of backgrounds. Pay and benefits were good from what I was told. I’m 100percent service connect from EOD ammo dumps in Iraq 2002-2005. I can’t say for certainty what the health care was. We started getting stock options and store remodels at the stores I ran after the army. I lived and loved through the challenges of 18 produce departments remodels and refits. 3am green rack cleanings reminded me of weapons cleaning days in the barracks!
Cons
Slow to promote. People stay at Krogers for 60 year retirement parties. Krogers places people as store managers before you make the larger salaries. I was in line as a SME for produce and loss prevention for a large store but had to wait three years for the other guy to retire. So I got bored….ADHD, started flirting. I was asked to resign for the dating a co-worker. 3 months severance and I got my VA benefits going so Instopped working.
