Pros

The co-workers are great, benefit are okay. They are working to improve low moral. They really will allow anyone to try anything new, qualified or not. It really matters who your manager is if you're going to be successful. HR team is working hard to help improve, but their suggestions are not taken seriously by the top.

Cons

Kyocera was a powerhouse in the 1980s. They have not kept up with any modern technology or products they offer to the customers. They allow archaic management (is good 'ole boys, traditional Japanese management, etc) ideas. They have not stayed with technology to continue to be competitive. You will hear about the high retention rate, however this is because the persons that stay too long make themselves unmarketable by not being trained on new concepts or tech. Many people care deeply about success for the company however they are blocked by "we have always done it this way" at the top. They have an amazing philosophy which is only "do as I say not as I do" at most levels of top management (GPS FY19 being a prime example). President is SIGNIFICANTLY out of touch with modern business practices. He has deep dislike and anti-technology decisions frequently which only hurts the employees. Pay is horribly lower than the market. If you get an offer ask for way more! They will not promote hard working individuals but may give a 1-2% raise a year (maybe).

Kyocera Response

We accept all feedback and yes, we are incredibly proud of our people and the long tenure but we know it may not be for everyone. Our benefits rank among the top 30% of our peers but you are right, they may feel a little old fashioned like a fully funded pension and Differential medical pay. We certainly feel the need to modernize our workplace attitudes too and we are focused on that intensely this year. Thank you again for taking the time to write a review.

Pros

Paychecks come on time, they have a decent rep in the ceramic packaging world. I worked with some wonderful people.

Cons

This is not a sales job, your are managing accounts with no incentive. QA issues non stop, legal issues, payment, anything and everything comes back on "sales". Every day was a new fire that always felt like preparing for a deposition where each employee starts pointing fingers at one another. Horrible moral. Depends heavily on your direct management. I'll just say that I had emailed some of the issues i was having to my manager (something I've never had to do my entire career) and nothing changed, except that they had logged into my email and deleted it so there was no record. It was not a good situation.
