Pros

* Stable off-shore operation backed by a cash-rich yet frugal parent * Generous vacation package after the first couple of years * Great commute, if you live in/near the Diablo Valley * Company adheres to a strict budget -- no layoffs If you're just looking for a place to collect a paycheck, you might like it here.

Cons

* Japanese-style management (a mismatch for software dev) * Mandatory company philosophy training * No practical skills training * Salaries are ~20% below market * Old, outdated technologies and practices ("We <3 the '90s!") * No chance for promotion * Lots of petty politics, little collaboration/teamwork * Located far from tech centers * Company adheres to a strict budget -- don't expect new equipment, appreciation gestures, etc. If you wish to stay relevant in the fast-moving Bay Area tech market, you most certainly won't like it here.

Pros

Paychecks come on time, they have a decent rep in the ceramic packaging world. I worked with some wonderful people.

Cons

This is not a sales job, your are managing accounts with no incentive. QA issues non stop, legal issues, payment, anything and everything comes back on "sales". Every day was a new fire that always felt like preparing for a deposition where each employee starts pointing fingers at one another. Horrible moral. Depends heavily on your direct management. I'll just say that I had emailed some of the issues i was having to my manager (something I've never had to do my entire career) and nothing changed, except that they had logged into my email and deleted it so there was no record. It was not a good situation.
