Pros

Well constructed furniture. Well respected brand name. Attractive physical environment. I like the freedom to work at my own pace and interact with clients. There is the opportunity to sell tables and accessories as well as sofa's and chairs. I like the teamwork I have with my other co-workers. There is no back biting or stealing in my location. The company provides 2 weeks training upfront, both on selling and product. There is ongoing sales training and product training. We get to go out to the houses of our clients to measure and determine better what they need. It's an opportunity to sell more product.

Cons

Low pay. Minimal holidays and sick days. Long hours and high health insurance costs. There are 7 stores in Northeast Ohio owned by the same person(it's a franchise). It's hard to make a decent income because of the way he has structured the commission system. Their is a great deal of turnover and alot of unhappy people. You are expected to work every holiday and several evenings a week. Some days you are expected to work 9 to 9. You do not get any sick days for the first year. The health insurance is pretty high so most employees can't afford it.

Pros

Easy selling environment due to intense brand loyalty and quality Depending on location, good schedule (relative to other companies of it’s kind) Customers are (typically) older and therefore more established/have higher income.

Cons

Pay is not sustainable. The commission structure is very company friendly and not very salesperson friendly. With all metrics being met… you’re looking at roughly 55-60k a year. Not enough in today’s day and age. Sales are often very confusing and not easy to explain, OR are very simple. Pick one.
