Pros

"Family" environment in certain parts of the company (although oft-times a dysfunctional one)

Cons

Technologically inept. Still a 'good old boy' network in place in certain parts of the company that causes significant issues. Communication isn't valued, and the systems in place make it almost impossible to share data appropriately. Salaries for non-managers are rarely reviewed and increased appropriately. Senior management often overlooks the value of their people and is more concerned with following the letter of the law, while at the same time rewarding those who may be inept or not ready to progress. Lazy effort in rewarding development and communication filters down to the plants, making them less productive and continuing to make China a more viable option for outsourcing.

Pros

Easy selling environment due to intense brand loyalty and quality Depending on location, good schedule (relative to other companies of it’s kind) Customers are (typically) older and therefore more established/have higher income.

Cons

Pay is not sustainable. The commission structure is very company friendly and not very salesperson friendly. With all metrics being met… you’re looking at roughly 55-60k a year. Not enough in today’s day and age. Sales are often very confusing and not easy to explain, OR are very simple. Pick one.
