Pros

My direct supervisor was an absolute wonder in countless ways.

Cons

I'm a super high profile, award winning bartender, craft mixologist and bar manager with the best credentials and references anywhere in NH. I was embraced and encouraged my first 2 seasons as a bar operator at Delta Dental Stadium, home of the NH Fisher Cats. However, at the start of my 3rd season the operations manager's sentiment and behavior changed. I was moved to an ulterior, underperforming bar with a fraction of the revenue. Also, old man in a kitchen uniform is a snowflake and gets to influence reprimands. Also, never, ever a pay raise, let alone COL adjustment. Starting pay is STILL $10/hr. Also, in both my seasons working here I did not see ONE minority employee. And I didn't see any this year, either. This location is operated by a squawking "corporate" type with the "You should all be grateful to work here" attitude. Talks down to everyone, ESPECIALLY the temps they employ via a labor agency in town. The only positive about working here was my direct supervisor whom was absolutely amazing in countless ways, cool under pressure, unlike HER boss, the Operations Manager lady. I literally walked out on her in defense of my dignity and my standards. In summary, if you're Caucasian, don't mind working for SHET wages and being talked down to like you're easily dispensable then Compass Group, (Levy Restaurants, Professional Sports Catering) is definitely the place for you! However, if you have pride, dignity and self worth, you should look elsewhere.

Pros

Customers are typically great! Timberwolves games and concerts can be fun events to work. Shifts are typically 4-5 hours of fast-paced, but manageable. Co-workers can be nice.

Cons

At the Target Center location, you will be misled when you are hired! You will be hired as a bartender, but will never actually work as a bartender. Union and seniority make it difficult to get a regular schedule - you will be cut half the time. When you do actually get a shift, you will be forced to work as a concession stand worker, serving pizza, hot dogs, candy, popcorn, and a lot of little kids! I've worked there for a year and rarely worked behind a bar. Management is extremely unorganized, unprofessional, and there is zero communication or support. If you run into a problem during your shift, you're on your own. The "scheduling coordinator" with zero bartending experience shows favoritism, and the work assignments are unfair. If you speak up, HR and management retaliate. Toxic culture! If you need a sporadic, part-time job where you can make occasional decent money, it's an okay gig. If you can maintain a positive attitude (despite all the negativity), enjoy the customers and events, and provide good service, you can sometimes make good money.
