Pros

Remote work can be convenient. Some of the employees are wonderful people. Swag is cute.

Cons

There was a major shift once the company was bought out by a VC. There was a significant change to management; it was abrupt and not kind to leaders who had been there for years. Everyone is overworked, and is constantly being asked to pick up projects and responsibilities outside of their initial job scope. The most valued workers are the ones who make this job their life. "Unlimited PTO" becomes a scam when you have all of the same work waiting on your return, as no one has the bandwidth to assist. Because of the constant surprise layoffs (brutal after you spend so much time getting to know your kind co-workers) the remaining employees become cut-throat and speak poorly about their "competition" to their managers, who are looking for any way to become profitable and "trim the fat". They are starting to off-shore development work, which they would know won't work if they had kept any historical management. Overall, it feels like the only goal is to make more money for investors and the initial C-suite.

Pros

Leadership who cares, generous parental leave, a CEO who cares about and believe in the mission, great company culture

Cons

Not necessarily a con but goals are difficult to meet. Leadership is good about working with the team to get things done and set expectations.

Pros

Team has always been stellar, even throughout the years of talent leaving/getting laid off.

Cons

Low pay compared to national average. They preach 'performance based raises' but it really just boils down to whether you're the favorite or not. Litify's constantly chasing bigger clients, which means as a developer you are constantly churning out features to appease them. Tech debt is stacking up, lack of documentation, next to zero accessibility features, lack of polish on older features (lots of stuff kicked down the road). Tons of vibecoding going on now, enjoy code reviewing for hours. Product is feeling buggier and less cohesive over time. I can only imagine what the other product teams have to put up with.
