Good place to learn about business and leadership - Shift Lead Long John Silver's Employee Review

Pros

It's a simple place to work at. Not hard at all to move up. Most individual stores have a flexible enough culture to let you learn about what goes into making the store work. From my background of having zero to none business exposure, this is a good job to learn management, practical leadership, and the ins and outs of what makes a store profitable. For moving up in the company, give it 3 or so years, become a shift manager, move up to an assistant, and you can likely land a store general manager position at 6 years or so.

Cons

The pay isn't all that competitive, at the stores, it's a less efficient production at times. Sometimes, these's only so much that corporate can do for the stores. It seems like not all stores are treated equally, or rather, some stores are clearly prioritized more than others. The one I work at is old, crumbling, and dilapidated. Maybe they'll do something about it, maybe they won't. They sure don't mind keeping us guessing.
