Pros
Wfh, unlimited PTO (if you can mange your workload to take it), and some really fantastic coworkers. The work itself is interesting and creative.
Cons
-There is virtually no work life balance. Burnout comes hard and fast. The workload is impossible to manage if you want to be able to also have your own life. Working 12 hours a day average is NOT okay. When this is communicated to your manager they tell you the issue is you and that YOU are not working efficiently enough. Told to work smarter not harder. Meanwhile they remove access to necessary tools required to perform the job efficiently. - Some clients are lovely, but the majority are rude and entitled. Many are given unrealistic expectations in the sales pitch which means the Implementation manager gets the brunt of their anger and dissatisfaction. - A majority of your quarterly performance metrics are based completely on the whims of customers. Can’t get a bonus unless 40% of your clients decide to click a link to review you. Clients cancel their subscriptions constantly because they figure out the produce doesn’t live up to the hype. Yet, if a client decides not to launch, or doesn’t want to review you, you won’t get your full bonus. And you’re already being underpaid as it is. -Upper management is completely out of touch. A few days after firing 40+ employees they sent an “extreme ownership” pledge that every employee was required to sign. Prior to them the CEO forwarded a message from the COO admonishing employees for taking breaks and running errands during “LP time”. -Managers do a lot of micromanaging. - Culture is toxic. Always expected to do more and give everything you’ve got to a company that doesn’t even appreciate you. - Not a lot of benefits besides wfh, and health insurance. Most tech companies -even startups- offer some sort of employee education benefits, gym memberships, mental health , etc. LP does not. The reason always given because they are a startup/budget. (The company still considering itself a startup is also debatable) - Company is a sinking ship. They constantly talk about how much money they raise, but layoff in swaths and remove essential productivity tools due to budget and even top performers aren’t getting raises. Make that make sense.
