Pros
The tech employees that I've worked with at M&T Bank are almost unilaterally great, and I like the flexibility individuals have in moving around internally and learning new things. I've never really been asked to do too much, and my work has been appreciated continually. In addition, management has always been understanding and flexible in terms of work/life balance.
Cons
The company rarely promotes from within, and has archaic HR policies that they use as an excuse to prevent pay raises and promotions. While they have taken strides to become more in line with industry standards, they are still lagging in base pay. In addition, most tech teams are required to report into office at least three days a week, into the city, and parking is not provided.
