Product variety is good, but management and pay disappoint - Sales MSC Industrial Direct Employee Review

Pros

Breadth of product, decent legacy.

Cons

Compensation is below average for sales. Upper Management claims they want you paid, but it doesn't equate to being the front facing person to customers and taking all the heat, when the admin levels screw up your business. The company used to be great and really coalesced around it's culture, and I feel that is a thing of past with the new upper management. I don't feel most of the upper management is qualified to be making the decisions that they do, it seems like they are fraternity that just keep shifting from position to position.

Pros

Salary is good, office is nice

Cons

MSC has a new CEO and several external executive leaders who have joined the organization with a clear vision to transform the business. The people are genuinely good and committed, but many of the company’s systems, distribution processes, and technology are significantly outdated. The company recognizes the need for transformation, which is why it has brought in experienced external leadership. However, there appears to be a gap between the transformation vision and the level of investment required to execute it. Large-scale initiatives often face resource and funding constraints, making it difficult to move at the pace needed
