Pros

MSC has the buying power that goes along with being a large company. They have access to most major brands, with product lines ranging from metal working solutions, power tools, hand tools, and safety products to fasteners, filters, and motors. Potential customers to call on range from state accounts to basic industrial accounts to hospitals and clinics. There are various types of support personnel that are available to help optimize your sales time.

Cons

MSC has many rules to live by, sometimes hampering flexibility. Meetings and conference calls detract from selling time. Also, there are competitors that pay quite a bit more.

Pros

Salary is good, office is nice

Cons

MSC has a new CEO and several external executive leaders who have joined the organization with a clear vision to transform the business. The people are genuinely good and committed, but many of the company’s systems, distribution processes, and technology are significantly outdated. The company recognizes the need for transformation, which is why it has brought in experienced external leadership. However, there appears to be a gap between the transformation vision and the level of investment required to execute it. Large-scale initiatives often face resource and funding constraints, making it difficult to move at the pace needed
