Pros

For some, compensation can be better than average. For the masses, this is not true and growth is limited.

Cons

We continue to be a backward company. Our technology is old and there is a culture of fear and intimidation. Our CIO has put our company behind since he came aboard. He hires his friends from Arrow and seems to only cut deals with his friends. If our Audit Department was adding any value they would investigate. I saw the CIO posted a flattering review about himself. I'm not in Melville, but the truth is that he has created a department ruled by fear and intimidation. When it snows and people can't dig themselves out he demands the come in risking life and limb. He has stonewalled against a telecommuting policy while I'll competitors embrace it and this has put the company further behind and helped facilitate the need to close the Melville office. IT Directors and above need to be removed and replaced. There are a couple of good ones, but that is about it. The CEO lied about the Melville office. He is closing it down eventually. It is all part of the current culture, just like any other corporation, just lie to get people to do what you want. I'm in Sales senior management and I have very good visibility over Sales, Finance, HR, Product, and IT. There are very bad management decisions being made, especially in HR and IT. I'm not bashing them, I'm just giving honest and direct feedback. My team makes their numbers and I do not have a problem. However, I'm disgusted by the current direction these Vice Presidents and CEO are taking us. We can fix it, but not with some of these people who are creating such a negative culture. I do not fear for my job because I can move to another company. I do NOT recommend someone look to move their career here. There are hard changes the CEO needs to take and I haven't seen that he is up to it. (Look at the way the CIO fools him)

Pros

Salary is good, office is nice

Cons

MSC has a new CEO and several external executive leaders who have joined the organization with a clear vision to transform the business. The people are genuinely good and committed, but many of the company’s systems, distribution processes, and technology are significantly outdated. The company recognizes the need for transformation, which is why it has brought in experienced external leadership. However, there appears to be a gap between the transformation vision and the level of investment required to execute it. Large-scale initiatives often face resource and funding constraints, making it difficult to move at the pace needed
