Pros
Work environment is fantastic ( both open for communication, or personal for introverts) Supplies, and tools are readily available ( I needed a cintiq and I was given one the next day ) Daily catchup meeting across departments for each project Experienced art direction Choice of free parking downtown or paid for public transport Building includes a gym Company celebrations and drinks at least once a week The IT department was the best, and extremely helpful Ceo frequents the floors and is friendly Kitchen with free snacks
Cons
Location is a double edged sword ( Its the heart of LA, Pershing Square and also Dirty/dangerous late at night) Middle management is lackluster. There wasn't a lot of direction from colleagues; and often I had to hunt down my managers on multiple floors to ask for feedback or feedback. ( this may bee because I was a traditional artist and most employed are 3d and VFX artists ) I couldn't see and illustrator working long term in the company; I'd expect a short term contract Communication is attempted early in the morning meetings but maybe a bit too much freedom afterword's. ( I may have been an outlier because I was the only traditionally trained artist in the department; therefore in my own world I assume. ). You will be emailing people that are stationed a couple rows behind you in the office which could be better explained and described in person. Some art directors are overseas, and I had no communication whatsoever. Depending on your position in the company it can feel a little isloating.
