Pros

There are absolutely no positives. None.

Cons

MAP bought out Ruby and it’s been a nightmare I can’t wake from. MAP sweet talked us, saying that they didn’t want to disrupt the way we were operating as it was successful. That they wanted to learn our “secret sauce”. BULL. They wanted our customer list. That’s it. They don’t care about the employees that built the success that we had. MAP, do you want to learn our secret sauce still? I’ll tell you! Treating employees well. That was it. Happy employees give amazing service. I know that must shock you because you don’t care at all about the people you employ. You might say you do, but actions speak louder, MAP. Your actions scream “we don’t care. You are replaceable”. And don’t even bother to try to convince me that the ESOP is a way to prove you care about us. Please. Be so for real right now. ESOPs are a way to avoid paying taxes, a way to not have to pay out actual cash to retirement plans, a way to trap employees into staying until funds are vested, and a way to force employees to invest their retirement funds into your company as if we didn’t learn anything from the Enron disaster. It’s also used here to manipulate, “you should care as you are also now an owner!” No. If I was an “owner” as you like to say, you’d care what we have to say. You don’t. We’ve given feedback. You don’t care. MAP forced us all to migrate to their outdated system that is a nightmare to work on. Less than a year before our internal dev team had built a custom platform with our feedback in mind. It was built to make the job easier for receptionists. Echo clearly was not. But I digress. There is a lot more to this review than just the awful platforms we are being forced to use. Let’s talk about some of the adorable anti-employee choices they’ve made. As a way to really demonstrate that they don’t care about us, they gutted our benefits and PTO package, and then had the audacity to say that the benefits were “holding Ruby back”. From what? Having a revolving door of employees? Keeping employees from burning out from not having any work life balance? Or was it just holding back money from going to your pockets. We aren’t dumb, despite what you seem to think of us. We see it. They also fired 90% of our leadership team (because they stood up for us), including the EDI team. But as a way to show us they super still care about diversity, they have a racist dress code in the new handbook. Cool (:. Banning bonnets and wave caps is racist. We see it. It’s really giving that they still care about diversity. Ending short and long term disability is also a super cute way to say you still care about diversity. The because they clearly only want able bodied workers here. If you have a disability, you don’t matter to MAP. Putting our most vulnerable Rubys at risk is gross. They implemented abusive receptionist metrics. For real, having metrics so extreme thar receptionists can’t use the bathroom is insane, and an osha violation. But hey! I guess we could go the way of Amazon with pee buckets/bottles under our desks! I hear that’s all the rage now! Cute! Taking away paid breaks from our Rubys not in OR or WA is insidious. Especially when you’re making them work an extra half hour. Same with taking away sick time. You know you don’t have to do this? Yeah? You know that you could CHOOSE to still offer those benefits. Just because you aren’t required to be law doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. You just don’t want to spend the money on it. We see it. But tell us again, please, that you care about all Rubys. Our new corporate overlords are dismantling us for parts, while they give orders from afar, and find any way they can to squeeze more money out of us while they tank the business. There is so much I could say here, but so many of my fellow Rubys have already said it. I also feel the need to be careful not to say something that could expose my identity because I don’t trust MAP won’t just fire me like they do to anyone else that dares tell them they are wrong. Or dissents in any way. It seems more than a little fishy that the receptionists that have been the loudest on AMA about the abusive changes are the ones they have let go or moved away from Ruby. I see it MAP, several of us do.

Transition periods, especially due to acquisitions, can be challenging for everyone involved. With the process of aligning our businesses together under one company structure, changes to benefits and policies are inevitable. Our commitment to our core values and our people remains strong. We continue to provide a generous benefits package, with comprehensive health/medical coverage and a 75% full match for employees and their families. While leave allowances and break policies have been reworked to align with our company's other divisions, we've proactively increased hourly pay to ensure no negative impact on your overall compensation. Your feedback is important, and we are dedicated to supporting our employees during these transitions.

Pros

Good Pay - IF you have perfect attendance. I'm sorry but there are no other pros.

Cons

In my 40+ years of working, this is the MOST micromanaged company I have ever worked for. Cameras watching your every move (there's even a camera in the breakroom watching you), attendance policy leaves ZERO room for error. I quit eating my lunch early to make sure I clock in on time to NOT LOSE my attendance bonus. Calls come in back to back to back leaving you little to no time to decompress if you get a rude caller or emotionally difficult situation; yes you can pause the calls but that goes against your metrics and can get you written up. This company has a HIGH turnover rate, mainly due to the micromanaging and being treated like a robot. I witnessed a LOT of great worker give up and quit because of the constant monitoring by supervisors and management. Once person was given a "final warning" because his/her cellphone was caught on camera AFTER HOURS in a closed call center. One can understand the no cell phone on the floor policy but this is after hours when it's really none of their damned business; especially when this particular location was closed for the night and no sensitive information was visible ANYWHERE. Another employee was written up for simply taking food from the call center when they were told they could (this was from an employee event that occurred earlier and that employee wasn't there during the time and was told they could take something home) and it was seen on camera by corporate monitoring the video. Part-time employees cannot accrue vacation time making difficult to take time off and do anything. This is especially difficult for those also working a fulltime job (like myself) who travel for vacations. I could think of quite a few more things but IMHO, this company doesn't care and would not be receptive to changes that might make things better for employees.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We recognize that our workplace is not the right fit for everyone. As a provider entrusted with handling sensitive customer information across a variety of industries, we maintain strict security, privacy, and compliance standards. Our operations are governed by requirements related to HIPAA, PCI, HI-TRUST and other client specific obligations, which included controlled work environments, monitoring practices, attendance expectations, and policies regarding personal devices in operational areas. Many of the practices referenced in your review are designed to protect customer information, support regulatory compliance, and ensure consistent service delivery for our clients. While these standards can feel structured compared to some workplaces, they are necessary components of operating in a highly regulated environment. We also understand that call center work can be demanding. For that reason, we continually review employee feedback, operational processes, and wellness initiatives to support our teams while maintaining the standards our clients expect. While your review references alleged disciplinary matters involving other individuals, we do not discuss, confirm, or comment on the employment circumstances, performance management, or corrective actions of any current or former employee. Respecting employee privacy and confidentially is important to us, even when details are shared publically. We are committed to recognizing and supporting employees through a variety of programs, events, and initiatives designed to celebrate their contributions and foster a positive workplace culture. At the same time, we must balance employee experience with our obligations to clients, regulators and the industries we serve. We also believe transparency is important. Compensation, benefits, scheduling expectations, and eligibility requirements are communicated during the hiring process and are outlined in our employee policies so that candidates can make informed decisions about whether the role aligns with their needs. We appreciate all employee feedback and continuously evaluate our practices to ensure we maintain a workplace that balances accountability, compliance, customer service and employee support.
