Pros

They offered Free meals for all staff, management was okay, there was team environment and almost everyone was willing to help

Cons

They don’t care adding more roles to the kitchen aides if the nurses say so. Poor kitchen people have no voice. It’s a lot of work depending on which shift you are working and who you are working with. Limited room for progress.

Pros

RESIDENTS! They are some of the funniest, kindest, and most heart-warming human beings you will ever meet. Listening to them talk and hearing their stories is truly THE only good thing about the position.

Cons

Where do I start? -the food is pitiful. with the amount of donations they get, and "tuition" they collect from the residents, as well as the laughable pay the employees get, you'd think they'd spend more on food. -management really does not care for the independence and happiness of the residents. I heard many-a-times that people came in with more skills than they left with. They are so focused on micromanaging people that many of the residents literally become depressed and unhappy living there. -the $15/hr pay is almost laughable for the amount of work RTs do. Not only do they distribute dozens and dozens of the resident's medications/supplements, but they help them clean themselves, take them on outings, and even give them showers.
