Pros

Paychecks clear. You’ll get plenty of practice in conflict management, people-pleasing, and biting your tongue — transferable skills if you escape.

Cons

If you enjoy parroting talking points and pretending the Kool-Aid tastes great, you’ll fit right in. For everyone else, brace yourself. Culture: Toxic is putting it politely. Leadership by intimidation is the norm, and questioning anything is treated like an act of rebellion. Retaliation isn’t a risk—it’s an expectation. Favoritism: Professional boundaries? Cute concept. Leadership’s “special relationships” lead to blatant favoritism while talented employees head for the exits. Advancement: Promotions on the Care Team follow a clear pattern: reward a very specific demographic, rinse, repeat. Diversity is used as a marketing slogan, not a practice. Only one manager of color remains. Reality Check: Despite branding itself as supportive of women, the lived experience paints a very different picture—especially for women of color. Bottom line: If you like the sound of a career where integrity and equity are optional, you’ll thrive. Otherwise, run—don’t walk—in the opposite direction.

Pros

I joined Maven in September because the mission resonated, and the work genuinely lives up to it. The impact on members isn't marketing language. It's the actual product of what people here do every day. A few things that have stood out: - I've already been promoted, which says a lot about how the company recognizes contribution and growth. - I have real autonomy to own my work and move things forward without being bottlenecked. - The culture is collaborative in a way that's rare, and people across the org have been generous with their time and support. If you care about doing meaningful work and want to be somewhere that bets on you early, Maven is worth a serious look.

Cons

Fast paced environment, but that's expected (and honestly part of the appeal) for a company in this stage of growth.

Pros

Met some coworkers turned life long friends

Cons

This place destroyed my mental health. Management does not care about you, they only care about the numbers on the paper.
