Pros

- Remote first company with "work from anywhere" summer - The mission, at its core, is compelling and meaningful

Cons

When I joined Maven, I thought the critical Glassdoor reviews didn’t apply to me, I assumed that I’d have a different experience because I could handle a fast-paced environment. Unfortunately, the reviews were accurate. Please don’t overlook them as I did. - Toxic micromanagement culture: Leaders obsess over controlling the smallest details while ignoring the bigger strategic problems. Employees spend more time rewriting emails and slide decks to appease executives than actually doing impactful work. - Unsustainable workload: Employees are pushed far past reasonable limits, expected to churn out 150% effort indefinitely with ZERO recognition, support, or additional resources. Burnout is the only outcome. -Complete organizational chaos: What Maven calls “fast-paced” is really just disorganized, top-down chaos. Teams spin in circles, communication is broken, and leadership’s impulsive decisions blow up projects before they can make progress. - Dehumanizing environment: People aren’t treated like human beings here we're treated like machines. Genuine connection, empathy, and support are nonexistent. The leaders I work with on a daily basis have never asked me a single personal question in the 6+ months of working here. It’s an isolating, lonely place to work. - Leaders don’t actually work: Senior leadership doesn’t roll up their sleeves or contribute meaningfully. They spend their time posturing in meetings, micromanaging details they don’t understand, and leaving the real work to everyone else.

Pros

I joined Maven in September because the mission resonated, and the work genuinely lives up to it. The impact on members isn't marketing language. It's the actual product of what people here do every day. A few things that have stood out: - I've already been promoted, which says a lot about how the company recognizes contribution and growth. - I have real autonomy to own my work and move things forward without being bottlenecked. - The culture is collaborative in a way that's rare, and people across the org have been generous with their time and support. If you care about doing meaningful work and want to be somewhere that bets on you early, Maven is worth a serious look.

Cons

Fast paced environment, but that's expected (and honestly part of the appeal) for a company in this stage of growth.

Pros

Met some coworkers turned life long friends

Cons

This place destroyed my mental health. Management does not care about you, they only care about the numbers on the paper.
