Pros

-Competitive pay -Great benefits (health insurance, dental, vision, life, long-term disability) -401k matching up to 5% contribution -Some teams are well-supported -Many promotion tracks for entry-level employees

Cons

-Medica is growing from a mid-sized to a large company, and there are lots of growing pains. Medica expands into new areas and lines of business before fixing the problems with their existing ones. -Leadership often adopts an attitude of "do more with less" -Many experienced and knowledgable employees are jumping ship for other companies, leading to a "hollowing out" of company culture. -Tech is often outdated, though this is slowly changing. -Typical office culture BS - useless meetings that could have been emails, middle managers that don't seem to contribute much. -Medica is very "top-heavy" at the moment - LOTS of VPs and Senior VPs, not enough staffing at the lower operations level. -Working in health insurance, which can be soul-sucking because you know your employer is scamming your community to a certain extent.

Pros

Work life balance is valued - but workload makes it impossible to actually follow through.

Cons

Employed by Medica through UCares acquiring. Nobody at Medica knew what was going on at UCare. Very disorganized, lack of communication between two, extremely heavy workloads, and upper management on UCare side does not advocate for staff.
