Pros

Medidata employees a lot of smart people, and is generally a satisfying place to work. The hours are reasonable, PTO policies are generous, and overall I haven't met many outright jerks here, at least in Engineering. I also think there are plenty of opportunities to develop your skills and career here. I do think the culture is fairly team-dependent however, so YMMV.

Cons

If you work on one of the large products, you will almost certainly find yourself maintaining legacy code and scrambling to pay back tech debt. The overall corporate direction also seems to shift frequently, with totally new objectives and focus each year, with little discussion of what happened, say, two years ago.

Pros

The company was fantastic when I first started working there, the culture was embracing and supportive. Folks seem to care about your development at first and your growth.

Cons

After 3ds bought the company it started going downhill gradually, many c suite turnover, terminations and new latest CEO is clueless when it comes to executing the vision, while also making sure they continue delivering on NEXT all on all these features when at launch half of them don’t even work properly. Having spent years at the company I saw clients lose trust on the products and leadership, a lot of times CEO’s from client side would give advice on senior management on processes which being the vendor we should be the leaders on guidance not the other way around. Consider applying to other SaaS companies.
