Pros

It's a job that might get you through the next couple of months.

Cons

Memorial prides itself and not being owned by another healthcare organization but with this pride, it's really the patients who suffer. There's no substantial well-rounded care. This hospital is merely a band-aid for a very ill population like Shiawassee County. The 'Human Resources Department' is made up of about five-ten people who sit there and talk crap about all of its employees and nail them to the cross for whatever. Management sucks in all departments - they're either absent/passive or like Human Resources - nail you to the cross for breathing wrong. Brian Long with president refuses to address real issues within the healthcare organization. Instead of purchasing new equipment that could benefit the community, they went ahead and built a pool and a salad bar in the new NOW Building. I think the employees and patients alike can agree this place is a joke. Insurance is under Trustmark which is a Cofinity package, and it SUCKS. It doesn't cover anything.

Pros

Meaningful work helping patients and families navigate difficult situations. Strong collaboration with leadership, physicians, nurses, and multiple departments. Incredibly supportive team! Lots of room for growth.

Cons

Emotionally draining at times due to constant exposure to complaints, conflict, and crisis situations. Patient facing roles often involve hostility or unrealistic expectations. Heavy documentation and administrative workload.

Pros

Cheap in-network benefits, tuition reimbursement

Cons

Culture is toxic, that toxicity is reinforced by leadership. Hospital has no project management or structure for processes, projects, people. There is no upward mobility.
