Pros
This use to be a great place to work but has since gone down hill in particular in the plumbing department on east broad where I was. They just keep dumping more and more work on you and expect you too keep and ignore the employee requests and cries for help. Yet the management just hangs out at the computer all day not doing anything and if they aren’t there they’re dicking around with their friends. They also have different expectations for everyone, if you’re important to the dept forget about time off being available even if part time , dept managers don’t have to work and other employees whom aren’t as important get as much time as they need , for example I requested a week off a month in advance and was told no because they can’t lose me. Benefits are a joke and they say Menards is worth it because of the bonuses and pay but in reality it’s not enough to live on . Promotions are granted on if you are on the inner circle with the gms. Employees share their grievances about their management and the store to the gms and thy are ignored yet they don’t know why employees are quitting which is because of the dept managers. Management takes credit for their employees work and brags about how much they are getting done and throw them under the bus to the gms. The HR harrassss you if you ever need anything from him especially schedule changes to the point where no one feels comfortable talking to him especially if it’s serious. HR and gms will promise you promotions to keep you at the store and drag you along as well and then give it to someone else. The department has lost all morale and is at the point where they refuse to go above and beyond but will do the bare minimal, at this rate it will take corporate stepping in to fix it.
