Pros

There are opportunities for advancement but you have to be willing to put in the effort, more are retiring so there is even more room for growth depending on your specialty.

Cons

The poor Sr Exec leadership is apparent in the misaligned internal operations throughout the entire organization. This trickles down in every department throughout the system as people who are uneducated and aloof as to what the long term affects of the continued hole is, continue to blindly do what "they've always done" and then corporate wastes money on external consultants and third party sources trying to fix a problem execs should be able to fix. The future of this organization is threatened. The extent of the operational inefficiencies of MLH have been revealed with COVID and it is a beast. No one wants to talk about the actual fix, but they'd rather put a band aid on it. Years of underpaid front line staff, departments operating the way they want, antiquated processes, and close minded mentalities have caught up. The market is no longer in the favor of the hospital and they have no clue how to fix it.

Pros

Genuinely the most people first organization I have worked for. The mission isn't just wall art. It shows up in how teams treat each other and how leadership talks about the work.

Cons

As with any large organization, change can take longer than I would like, but the people around me are aligned around our mission and work hard to make necessary change happen.

Pros

I have been with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare for nearly five years in my role as a Corporate Talent Acquisition Partner, and it has been an incredibly positive experience. The culture is supportive, mission-driven, and rooted in respect. Executive and senior leadership are strong, approachable, and deeply committed to doing what’s right for both employees and the community we serve. Leadership places a high value on promoting from within, and it’s not just talk—you consistently see internal talent recognized, developed, and advanced. This commitment creates trust, motivation, and long-term engagement across the organization. As a recruiter, I truly appreciate how leadership collaborates with the Talent Acquisition team to attract top talent. Recruiters are treated as strategic partners, not just order-takers. We are supported, listened to, and given the resources needed to be successful, which makes a meaningful difference in our ability to deliver results. Overall, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is a place where people matter, growth is encouraged, and leadership genuinely leads by example.

Cons

As with any nonprofit healthcare organization, there can be resource limitations, but leadership is transparent and thoughtful in how challenges are addressed. And with the culture being as amazing as it is, and the encouragement to have work-life balance, limited resources are hardly noticeable.
