Pros

Has M-F shifts. Health benefits aren’t the worst.

Cons

There’s a lot of blame games going on with mgmt. If you’re not able or willing to do the workload of several people, ask for help, and get mad when you don’t get any help you will get pulled into an office and told that you’re failing the person who calls out 1-2 times a week and is late more often than on time. Yes. That happened. I’m failing that person by not doing MORE of their job. I’m already doing a decent portion of their job and another person’s job on top of my own duties. And I’m angry because I have every right to be. I have been failed, not the other way around. This job went from being great 4 years ago to being a dumpster fire now. I’m angry because I can’t do 3-4 people’s jobs well by myself.

Pros

Covered parking in a garage.

Cons

As an employee of Methodist for 20 years, the unique culture and integrity that once was has sadly vanished. The merit increases across the system have nearly disappeared. You are lucky to get a 2% raise even with a stellar review. Every other Memphis hospital has a better annual merit compensation matrix. They are missing the mark on retention. Keep your loyal employees. They hire brand new nurses with the intention to burning them out in two years.ie: the two year bonus package. They hire to fire. Methodist employees need to align and unionize. Associate Relations, Employee Health, and HR are a toxic group. They do not back employees, they are in it for themselves, their big paychecks, and status. They need to do better in hiring qualified leaders. My department had a 200% turnover in 14 months after a leadership change. Every nurse that left was highly experienced by at least 10 years. They were seasoned loyal nurses. It was obvious immediately that this leader was not a good fit for the department. Their decision was to ride our department into the ground instead of address their glaring mistake from hiring an unqualified director. Something is seriously wrong when RN’s reach out to HR multiple times and nothing is done except allow the valued RN to leave.
