Pros

Their culture for a union store is superb. It's not management vs. staff; it's us working together to enrich the lives of our customers. Pay is on union scale, so it's competitive. Customer-centric focus is what it's all about here.

Cons

Dress code is a little tired. Some may feel the organization feels top-heavy, but the company is structuring for growth. Like any retail, hours can fluctuate and working weekends is a must. Could there be some more attention put towards work-life balance?

Pros

I’ve had to work for two metropolitan markets, one in Tacoma (temp) and one in gig harbor. Both had great people working there. I made good friends there and I felt very welcome. Employees who work there get a 20% discount in everything which is nice because the food quality there is great, there’s always something new to try there!

Cons

I would say the pay isn’t great; it’s a step up from working at Albertsons or any other entry job, but it’s not super livable unless you work there for a long time, 5 years plus.
