Pros

Semi relaxed consumer environment Made decent money

Cons

Staff only get along with you when it benefits them. Many times, shift leads would bulldoze their way into taking a lower-level staff member's sales after putting in all the work, which is only the tip of the iceberg, but it irked me the most as I couldn't log hundreds, probably thousands, of sales. Outselling the main staff? Expect passive-aggressive whispers and hostile treatment! Get brought on to a full-time position? Expect them to engage in quiet firing, where they bring on more staff for a store that's busy MAYBE 5 times a year, and when you show up, they tell you that YOU weren't meeting the sales requirements despite having your hours cut to train newbies and being put on graveyard shifts with little to no customers. OH! You need to make a return? Well, you don't have clearance, so ask your shift leader to login for literally any return you make, which leaves you with seemingly zero sales to clock in despite your shift lead doing nothing but sitting on her phone and trying on clothes. But you're still welcome back anytime! The overall ambiance of the staff was seemingly immature, even down to the highest manager, and once you discover the semi-nepotism hires, you'll understand why so many of them get away with pretty much anything. Essentially, if you're looking to work here as anything but a temp, I suggest you make sure you can handle cliques and shift leads that will essentially dump chores on you, steal your sales, and talk crap about employees to you, then smile right in their faces five seconds later. That's all!

Pros

At one point it was the discounts til they changed the policies up during my fifth (and final year at the store). Aside from that, working with my fellow colleagues were the ones responsible for keeping the work environment together and made the experience much more fun and bearable.

Cons

As a part-timer, there's no benefits or any additional incentives. They'll "reduce your hours" if you're not meeting sales "expectations" by zoning you in different parts of the store that doesn't have a lot of foot traffic (i.e. cashier or front of house). Depending on who you work with on the management side of things... this job can make or break you. Last group of managers I had were NOT the most ideal examples when you give them "actionable feedback" and not follow through with their expectations.
