There are genuinely good, hard working people (not in mgmt) who work there, The talent is just astounding on the floor and in all depts. Highly skilled and massively underappreciated staff
Cons
* Incompetent, unethical, disreputable, archaic, racist and sexist management. They do not value, care or respect their employees, (but they say they do) its incredibly troubling. The place feels like a sweatshop, the pay is low, but they actually say they overpay people. Their way of saying thank you for months of backbreaking mandatory overtime (because of chronic understaff) is pizza parties and raffles... instead of just treating people well and paying people a fair wage to keep them from the beginning. Every department is in chaos, due to inept management. I WISH I was overexaggerating. *Management discourages people talking about their pay amongst themselves. They also fire people on the spot if they find out you are looking at other job options. A mafia- like loyalty is expected of you, but not given to you. Toxic and manipulative environment. *HR is one unprofessional and inefficient person who weirdly pulls all the strings there and is untouchable. The corruption runs deep, and it has only worsened. Benefits are not good either, they used to be. *no clear path to moving up or around company. that would take organization, of which there is none. *High turnover means high pressure and demand on everyone else, mandatory overtime for months so everyone keeps getting sick. mass frustration. * Expect chaotic onboarding, micromanaging, then ridiculous expectations. The astronomical turnover rate is the only consistency. *Everything is still paper based and out of touch. The entirely of all records are in 25 year old excel spreadsheets. everything is printed out and stored physically, which is insane in this day in age. *There was a point last year where some good management was in play as VP and Production manager, a few hopeful events ... but they were fired because they actually tried to put people first. So, their solution to that dumb firing move was to bring back an abusive production supervisor and unethical and immature QA manager, and allow them to make all the decisions going forward. It is just one bad decision after another there, for years now. Future is bleak.. *I would not wish this kind of employment on anyone. I know what a good business looks like. MST has, by far, the most ham-handed, disordered, disrespectful management I've ever seen in all my years. I do not recommend working here, in any department. Just RUN.
