Pros

Working at Mile High Behavioral Healthcare has been a truly transformative experience. As a Peer Support Specialist, the emotional demands of the job can be heavy, but I have never felt alone in carrying them. The level of support I’ve received here—both professionally and personally—has been nothing short of incredible. This organization has not only recognized my strengths but has actively nurtured my dreams, including my aspirations in public speaking, training, and educating. They have encouraged my growth, given me space to explore who I am, and provided the flexibility needed to take care of myself while still making an impact. What truly sets this workplace apart is the leadership. My managers (Dresden W, Kelley T, and Courtney L.) have been unwavering in their encouragement, guidance, and belief in me. They have walked beside me through the challenges of supporting individuals in crisis, always offering wisdom, reassurance, and a safe space to process the difficult moments. Their leadership is compassionate, empowering, and deeply invested in the well-being of both the staff and the people we serve. I also appreciate that higher management is approachable, knows me by name, and genuinely takes an interest in my personal goals. Their support has been a constant source of motivation. If you're looking for an organization that values its employees as whole people, fosters growth, and truly embodies the principles of peer support, this is the place to be. I am endlessly grateful to be part of such a nurturing and inspiring environment.

Cons

While the working space can feel a bit limited at times, the team does an amazing job of working together to maximize the space and support one another. It’s a great example of how everyone pitches in to create a positive and collaborative atmosphere.

Pros

Meaningful work, amazing clients, and a strong team. My team was one of the best teams I have ever worked with. Most of the know what they're doing, and if they don't, they will go through the appropriate channels to figure it out. Obviously, the clients are always tough in community mental health, though my former clients and coworkers were the only reasons I stayed for as long as I did.

Cons

Management. To put it plainly, if you're not a favorite, prepare to be pushed to the side every single time. There are also significant pay disparities between programs without logical justification.
