Pros

Nicer properties and decent wage

Cons

1. Treatment – Completely ineffective and out-of-touch leadership. The disconnect between corporate level employees and onsite has always been significant. Corporate employees treat onsite level as unimportant, disposable and downright insignificant. This disconnect has been made even more apparent in the time of COVID when in an effort to “protect” the employees all corporate level employees were immediately able to work from home when onsite level is forced to work up to 8 team members to a small office daily exposing themselves and their families to the virus. Greystar, Windsor, Gables….every other company immediately enacted skeleton crews in an effort to provide some level of safety but Mill Creek onsite employees were not allowed to work from home or have a skeleton crew. 2. Time Off- When you are exposed to COVID you are required to use up ALL of your own personal and sick time before Mill Creek will pay for any time off. After all of your time has been used up, Mill Creek has a one-time allowance with a maximum of 10-days they will pay for missing work due to COVID. This leads to employees being constantly exposed and not letting anyone know as they either don’t want to go without pay or they don’t want to use all of their personal time. 3. Pay - As soon as the COVID shut downs started at the end of February 2020, Mill Creek immediately cut all salaries between 10%-15% and stopped all 401k contributions. While onsite team members with other management companies are receiving additional Front-Line Worker pay and bonuses, the laughs just keep coming with the loss of a portion of our salary, all of our 401k contributions and parts of our bonuses. 4. Advancement – While Dallas employees were excited in the recent leaving of the RM (who often rode around on a broom), once again Mill Creek shows it’s true colors by not promoting from within. The recent hire of the Little Miss Texas runner up with little to no experience is disappointing to say the least. If you want a company where your hard work, longevity and dedication can lead to advancement, look elsewhere. 5. Beware-We are constantly asked to post positive reviews on here so be wary on how much truth there is on the positive reviews.

Thank you for sharing your concerns about our company and for your candor. It’s candor like this that will help us to become an even better organization. Please know that when we ask associates to post reviews on this site, we’re not asking for positive reviews. We’re asking for meaningful feedback, and we welcome negative reviews because we believe they will help us to grow as an organization. We understand your concerns with regard to the impact of COVID-19 on all of our lives and have worked diligently to try to address its impact on our organization and people with increased safety protocols. It appears there may have been a misunderstanding with regard to how we addressed onsite teams in response to the pandemic, and we’d like to hear more of your perspective when you get a chance. Because we knew that, even with closing our community offices to the public, our onsite teams would need to be onsite to service our customers for move-ins, leasing and service requests, we did not reduce pay for our onsite teams or reduce bonuses for them. We made these decisions because we believed they were the right things to do for those on the front lines assisting our residents. If we don’t hear from you, we’re sorry that you don’t feel like we went far enough and will discuss your other concerns internally to determine if there’s anything we can do to address them and enhance the working experience. We know that you no longer work with us, but we would appreciate if you gave us a call so we can get more details from you on your concerns. – Jerry W., Human Resources.

Pros

Amazing management from the Millcreek team. They are fantastic when it comes to training their leasing professionals, and you have the opportunity for growth if you wish to pursue property management eventually.

Cons

The company is quite small compared to larger property management companies. Not necessarily a con but keep that in mind

Pros

Frontline staff are reliable and helpful

Cons

There is a major gap between the company’s focus on numbers and the actual well-being of the frontline staff. Employees are facing heavy financial and emotional stress due to low pay, unclear communication, and rigid housing policies. * Management Disconnect: Leadership focuses heavily on meeting targets but seems to overlook employee morale, stress levels, and retention. * Unclear Communication: Directions coming from regional and upper management are often muddy and inconsistent, making frontline work harder than it needs to be. * Wages vs. Cost of Living: Full-time employees working 40+ hours a week are struggling to make ends meet, which should not happen with a standard full-time schedule. * Onsite Housing and Late Fees: There is a clear issue when employees cannot afford to rent the very properties they work in. Charging struggling onsite staff a $200 late fee—instead of working with them on a manageable payment plan—creates an unfair financial cycle and damages company loyalty.
