1. Treatment – Completely ineffective and out-of-touch leadership. The disconnect between corporate level employees and onsite has always been significant. Corporate employees treat onsite level as unimportant, disposable and downright insignificant. This disconnect has been made even more apparent in the time of COVID when in an effort to “protect” the employees all corporate level employees were immediately able to work from home when onsite level is forced to work up to 8 team members to a small office daily exposing themselves and their families to the virus. Greystar, Windsor, Gables….every other company immediately enacted skeleton crews in an effort to provide some level of safety but Mill Creek onsite employees were not allowed to work from home or have a skeleton crew.
2. Time Off- When you are exposed to COVID you are required to use up ALL of your own personal and sick time before Mill Creek will pay for any time off. After all of your time has been used up, Mill Creek has a one-time allowance with a maximum of 10-days they will pay for missing work due to COVID. This leads to employees being constantly exposed and not letting anyone know as they either don’t want to go without pay or they don’t want to use all of their personal time.
3. Pay - As soon as the COVID shut downs started at the end of February 2020, Mill Creek immediately cut all salaries between 10%-15% and stopped all 401k contributions. While onsite team members with other management companies are receiving additional Front-Line Worker pay and bonuses, the laughs just keep coming with the loss of a portion of our salary, all of our 401k contributions and parts of our bonuses.
4. Advancement – While Dallas employees were excited in the recent leaving of the RM (who often rode around on a broom), once again Mill Creek shows it’s true colors by not promoting from within. The recent hire of the Little Miss Texas runner up with little to no experience is disappointing to say the least. If you want a company where your hard work, longevity and dedication can lead to advancement, look elsewhere.
5. Beware-We are constantly asked to post positive reviews on here so be wary on how much truth there is on the positive reviews.
