Pros
Have met some great people and made friends for life
Cons
* Starting from the beginning, the induction process is lengthy and irrelevant instead of learning useful things for a specific job. The training provided is minimal and new starters are left without a clue of what they or other teams they work with are doing * The culture everyone is talking about is a joke. A lot of fake people who's only purpose is to know everything about everyone and gossip as they get paid for it - feels like highschool all over again * The politics are insane a lot of the mid-management team have no management skills whatsoever other than obey without challenging or asking questions. Promotions should be given based on merits however there are sales managers who don't even know how to use the CRM system to quote, managers who threaten and bully their employees, managers that only know how to micro-manage and do not trust their employees nor give them the support they need * There are teams who bear a sales quota but don't get any recognition or incentives * No real chance to promote unless you're friends with the right people or to move teams - if you're really good at what you're doing and hard to replace you're being punished by them hindering your progress. I've seen a lot of people who choose to leave because they weren't given a promotion when they deserved it or weren't allowed to switch teams. The overall feeling is that you're not valuable and easy to replace * Salaries are below average in our dept and they would rather let good talented people go instead of listening to them and give them that well deserved pay rise * There is little to no support from the HR dept whose only functions seem to be focused around admin and talent acquisition, but no employee satisfaction or retention. I don't think anyone pays attention to those exit interviews because things aren't changing for the best * There is little flexibility on working from home
