Pros
The other pss staff are very helpful, supportive, helpful and honest. Just about all of my training I got through other Pss staff including the leads. The providers are wonderful and also very helpful, they talk to you like a human not as a patient like management often does.
Cons
Wanting to work in the mental health field to help others and being told I should look into therapy for my anxiety when getting "feedback" from management and then watching a member of management get so overwhelmed with a client (not being mindful of what they may being bug going through) management decided to not schedule them with a provider who's business is supposed to be independently contracted (meaning it's the providers client and the providers decision/ discretion). It is not managements call to make that decision. It was extremely disappointing, that client came here to get help and seek therapy. I wanted to work for a mental health company to help others, not be picked apart by management just because they have a counseling degree and take "feedback" to an unprofessional level picking apart what they see as a weaknesses and say I am victimizing myself when asked to bring up barriers I have come across while trying to do my job/ learn. It feels more like a set up so that management never looks bad, cannot take responsibility for their mistakes and gaps in training. Training you ask for or try to get through fellow staff members and then are told no management will handle that then it doesn't happen. It is rather disappointing and makes you feel uneasy when you see how a lot is handled. I recently looked at the managements and the owners facebook posts, the are often distasteful unprofessional for many reasons when thinking of how the company name has mindful in it. The turn over rate for staff is unsettling. Either because they figure it out and end up quitting or stick it out wanting to be there to learn, help the clientele coming in for therapy, and become part of a company that states they pride themselves on communication, a healthy work environment, a healthy work life balance, transparency and support only to learn little to non of these things have been held up to since starting and being told this from day one and end up getting let go.
