Pros

Great people on my team, extremely welcoming and helpful.

Cons

The company puts on a front. I was asked to put in positive reviews on Glassdoor as part of the onboarding process. One minute the company is flying everyone out to southern France, the next they’re laying off people two weeks before Christmas. You can throw a lavish summer event but you’re not able to balance your checkbooks and forecast 6 months ahead to avoid layoffs? Don’t even get me started on the way this company executed layoffs. I was told by HR that I was getting let go- not by my direct manager. In fact, my manager had no idea and was informed by HR after the fact- it was just impersonal and unprofessional. The way large tech companies laid off thousands of employees was awful as it is- Mirakl isn’t even remotely close to that level of a company, so that makes it even worse-the way layoffs were executed here was just plain ugly. CEO can be whimsical and a bit delusional sometimes. He seems to think this company is going to be at the same echelon as the FAANG companies some day. Not a chance, because there are finite use cases for marketplace. Amazon is more than a marketplace and is light years ahead in terms of being more innovative. I would not recommend working here.

We acknowledge that the past several months have been challenging due to the current macroeconomic situation; like many tech companies, we made some challenging decisions to set ourselves up for maximum long-term success. As such, we made the difficult decision to part ways with some of our employees. - experience to put on your resume

Cons

They typically don’t do return offers, which kinda defeats one of the main benefits of being an intern/co-op. Also, they have so many co-ops and even co-ops with no full-time person who does the same job. So there’s limited learning opportunities as a co-op, and it comes off like Mirakl is just looking for cheap, temporary labor. You can also end up severely overworked and overwhelmed depending on your manager. Expect unpaid overtime depending on your team.

Depending on business needs, team structure, and available openings, a permanent role may not always be possible — and this is made clear from the interview process. Whenever it is possible, we strongly encourage and promote this option, that's why in 2025, around 20% of our interns/apprentices continued at Mirakl in a permanent role. We also take workload and work-life balance very seriously. We encourage open communication and early escalation when someone feels overwhelmed, whether with a manager or a People Partner, so that solutions and support can be put in place.
