Pros

Decent pay. That’s about it🤷🏼 But I have found that other places in the area pay BETTER and are really REALLY better to work for.

Cons

I could literally sit here and write “cons” about Mizkan in Owensboro, Ky for hours….but for the sake of this review, I’ll just name a few of the cons about working there. #1, they DONT care about you…or your family or anything….management is horrible in this aspect which is what is wrong with the company in whole….MANAGEMENT! #2, I was suppose to receive uniforms to do my work in considering I got filthy and nasty there working in Maintenance fixing and working on machines. They “promised” I would have my uniforms in no more than a month after starting….after 5 months and a LOT of contacting HR….still no uniforms😡 #3. How your treated there by “management” is the absolute WORST that I’ve ever been treated anywhere I’ve worked in my life, and not just myself but numerous employees constantly complained about this, because they “pay so good” or decent as I say, they believe they can treat you any kinda way they want because they know they can terminate you today and someone will be waiting for your job tomorrow. Again…I can’t stress this enough….it is a horrible place to work period!! And as far as someone saying I’m writing this review because of “hard feelings” or to “get back at them” from when I worked there….no….that’s definitely not the case. I have a job now that pays BETTER money and is a joy to work for and I’m still in the same field (industrial maintenance) so there are no “hard feelings”. Just hope this review can SAVE someone from making the same mistake that I did by working for this horrible company.

Pros

There are a lot of great people to work with here. Everyone is supportive, genuinely cares about your success, and wants to help you grow. The benefits are pretty great too.

Cons

The organization is frequently understaffed, resulting in employees taking on multiple responsibilities beyond their original job scope without corresponding compensation. As staffing levels have been reduced, much of the workload has been redistributed to remaining employees, contributing to burnout and high turnover. There is a tendency to continually delegate additional tasks without a clear understanding of employees’ existing workloads or responsibilities. In some cases, roles have expanded significantly beyond their original purpose, with increased responsibilities added despite no meaningful adjustment in title, pay, or career progression opportunities. Communication from management can be inconsistent, leading to misunderstandings and confusion. The culture is largely top-down, with limited opportunities for employee input. Overall, workload expectations, lack of advancement opportunities, and communication challenges contribute to employee dissatisfaction and turnover.
