You’re just a number. Restaurants and bars will stay over staffed when it’s slow because they can afford to do, not caring that the tipped employees arent making money. Some even loosing money, for example I have co workers who pay for child care - on days its extremely slow and we are overstaffed they are spending more money then they are making. No appreciation. The company attempts to make employees feel appreciated by every so often choosing stand out employees. However, they are given a cookie from the grill (which you can get for free while working).
